This is a very short e-book (you can read it in fifteen minutes or less), but it did have some surprisingly useful tips. I especially enjoyed the chapter on organic websites. Though some of them were based in the UK and were, therefore, not relevant to me, I did discover Door to Door Organics, and I plan on using them in the future. I also appreciated the chapter on what the various organic, natural, grass-fed, etc., labels mean.

Overall, this was a quick read, but still a solid introduction to eating an organic diet.

Eating an Organic Diet on a Frugal Budget edition by Emma Buckley Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews

The author clearly understands the obstacles that people face when considering an organic lifestyle. She provides clear and simple steps to help transition from processed foods and/or conventionally grown produce to an organic way of living. I greatly appreciated the reference sites and steps to growing my own organic vegetables. I have tried before but everything she had recommended not to do I had done. Roll on Spring to start over.

Great value, and a minimal investment to get yourself on the road to an organic lifestyle
The title "Eating Organic on a Frugal Budget" aptly sums up its contents. This short book (really a pamphlet at 37 pages) provides clear, concise, step-by-step instructions for transitioning to an organic menu while balancing a food budget. It will answer some basic questions and provide a handy reference for anyone new to organic foods.

Defining basic terms, the book adds tips for buying at farmer's markets, in bulk or online, and comparison shopping. A section on reading labels with a list of definitions (Certified Organically Grown, etc.) provides a handy reference. There's even a step-by-step guide to starting your own small garden. A summary of "Common Mistakes People Make When Choosing Organic" fills out this short book -- a whole lot of clear information in thirty-seven pages.

I might have amplified the pure enjoyment of eating organic. It tastes good! But then, this book is not meant as a soap-box treatise but, rather, a concise game plan for practical organic eating. As author Emma Buckley points out, there are clear benefits to going organic. The ability to do so on a reasonable budget removes all excuses not try a more nutritious menu while taking advantage of the health benefits in the bargain. Start here.

Amazing what our food goes through before we eat it...YUK! Forty - fifty years ago you hardly heard of cancers or the many other health issues people have now a-days. And why is that? People ate organic for the most part.

Ms Buckley explains what organic is and is not which much I did not know. Thanks for that. She also breaks down and explains organic labels that can be confusing as any label can be. This too is very helpful as we have a couple large organic stores in our area and the labels baffle me.

I like that Ms. Buckley lists organic websites for research and for buying organic foods. This would certainly arm you with information needed in buying organic and spending hours in the grocery store reading labels is not my idea of a fun morning.

Growing your own isn't for everyone but it is definitely rewarding when you can eat what you've grown. Buying organic helps everyone involved from the seeds to the ultimate consumer. We DO need to be more friendly to our planet and ourselves and this is the way to go. This is an eye opener to a healthier diet.
